Compare Document Scanners

Workgroup scanners are designed to run at their rated speeds for
greater lengths of time than desktop scanners.
Their recommended Daily Duty Cycle (DDC) of scans is higher.

MOST of the models below are 11"x17" scan width capable.

These are the KEY features in deciding on which Network Scanner

Note most "Wi-Fi" scanners only allow you to run the scanner via your phone, they do not send the documents across a "Wi-Fi connection" to a network as the scanner requires an ethernet network connection.

Stand Alone means you do not need a PC to generate and transmit the images, nor do you need the software running as a service elsewhere on the network. MOST network scanners require the software to be running "somewhere". Stand Alones do not. Some Network scanners can only be configured remotely, the scan job choices are uneditable on the scanner screen. Job 1 for example, only creates a color PDF that can only be emailed to jane@contoso.com. You would have to create many jobs remotely and then save them to the scanner. A Stand Alone would allow the user to create any type of job and save it on the scanner while at the scanner.
