ScanTastik offers great pricing on the complete line of Fujitsu
scanners. Each document scanner is equipped
with an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), and
half are flatbed scanners.
Models that have a 'C' in the name are COLOR models, Models that are higher
numbers I.E. the fi-5900C, are the faster, high speed
scanner models.
These models deliver speed, image quality, and advanced paper
handling, as well as true ease of integration and compatibility with more
than 200 imaging applications. Fujitsu is the price/performance leader
with such standard features as built-in automatic document feeders for
rapid, unattended scanning of multiple documents, SCSI-II or USB
interfaces, and on most workgroup scanners, flatbeds for books, bound
reports, or fragile originals.
Some scanners are "SCSI-2" means you need a card like
an Adaptec installed your PC to be able to scan. Models that have Scan
Partner (SP) in their designation include a SCSI-2 card and 6' Cable.
Some scanners are USB 1.2 and some are USB 2.0. That is the
interface, the way the scanner "talks" to the PC to pass the scanned images to
it. You must have a matched port to the scanner in USB 2.0 on high speed
scanners. This means you need a USB 2.0 port on your PC to talk at the rated
speed of a USB 2.0 ported scanner. Otherwise the scanner may "talk" too fast to
the PC for it to pass through the images.
Scanner Warranty:
Warranties are based on
the model, for example, the smaller models have 1 year exchange (No Excuses),
others have 3 month on site/9 month return to depot, while the more robust
scanner models may have one year on site warranties. All models have an optional

Scanner Care Kits:
All models have some parts that
are user serviceable. To that end, they sell "kits" that are designed for
the particular model. The parts are for the parts that will wear out, such
as the Pick Roller, which grabs the bottom of the paper, and the Pick Pad,
which holds the top of the paper. Also, the Scan Care Kits come with
cleaning supplies such as cleaning sheets, cleaning fluid, etc.
