Digital Tape Libraries
Plasmon's
1800 Series is a family of 12-inch optical disk libraries designed
to store large datasets in the most demanding of applications.
The modular
design includes three models: 1602, 1802 and 1803. Each model sets the
standard for dependable, high-capacity, and unalterable TrueWORM™
(Write Once Read Many) technology. Using Plasmon 8000 optical drives
and media, Series 1800 libraries can store from 870 gigabytes to 4.2
terabytes of data in a permanent archive with a minimum data life of
30 years.
Complete field
upgradability between models gives you the flexibility you need to
keep up with changing storage requirements. This scalability protects
your customer's hardware investment and protect their data investment.
Exceptional reliability and expandability have made 1800 Series
Libraries the choice of OEMs and system integrators throughout the
world.

Performance is optimized for fast access times using
high-speed robotics with dual cartridge transport
mechanisms, and full servo-motion control with overlapping
motions. The typical time to exchange cartridges is less
than 8 seconds. |
| ·
Plasmon 8000 dual-headed optical drives can access both
sides of the media simultaneously, avoiding the removal and
flipping of media required with other optical drives,
resulting in reduced wear and faster response times. |
| ·
Reliability is assured by advanced design, continuous
ongoing reliability testing, life testing, and Plasmon's ISO
9001 Manufacturer's Certification. The Mean Time To Repair (MTTR)
is 30 minutes. |
| · The
Mean Exchanges Between Failure (MEBF) is 600,000. |
| ·
Libraries are certified with most popular software packages. |
| ·
Support includes authorized third party service providers,
certified training for installation and maintenance, and
spares logistics planning. |
